Subscription Tracker Calculator: Your result appears above. It's a fast estimate based on the inputs you entered — use it to compare options, then confirm with a professional before making a decision.

What does this result mean?

  • The number is only as accurate as your inputs — small errors compound.
  • Compare 2–3 scenarios rather than acting on a single result.
  • Talk to a licensed professional before making a large financial or medical decision.

How does the formula work?

Monthly total = Σ (Count × Price) for monthly groups + Σ (Count × Annual price ÷ 12) for annual plans. Annual total = Monthly × 12. Average per subscription = Monthly ÷ Total count. Waste = Average × Unused count. Cost after canceling = Monthly − Waste. Ten-year value of the waste = Waste × [((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r], r = 7% ÷ 12, n = 120.

How it works

Subscription spending is systematically underestimated. Multiple consumer surveys have found that people guess their monthly recurring charges at roughly half of what their statements actually show, because each individual charge is small, the billing dates are scattered across the month, and free trials convert silently. Grouping subscriptions by category and averaging the price inside each group gets you an accurate total in about a minute — far faster than listing every service, and accurate enough to act on. The 60-day usage test is the part that saves money: if you have not opened a service in two months, you are not going to, and canceling costs nothing because nearly all consumer subscriptions run to the end of the paid period after cancellation. Annual plans are divided by twelve here so they compare fairly against monthly billing, and they genuinely are cheaper per month on most services — but only for the services you actually keep, since annual plans are usually non-refundable mid-term.
